Mission & Purpose

The mission and specific objectives of this online, outreach ministry are:
  1. To bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to inner city and urban communities across the nation by providing a network database of outreach ministries, which utilizes the support group or cell group concept as a means of reconciling individuals with God through a saving knowledge of Christ, thus, fulfilling "The Great Commission" as given by our Lord in the New Testement.
  2. To establish a bible study for discipleship training and to identify & train ministry outreach servant-leaders that will carry out this mission.
  3. To establish or identify "support group" fellowships through online networks that address such issues as; addiction, co-dependency, physical and sexual abuse, teen-age pregnancy as well as mentorship for young, single mothers, etc.
  4. To provide a means for those evangelized to experience the "true worship" of God and a means for them to give Him praise and glory in a corporate setting by referring them to Bible believing, preaching and teaching church that adheres to the doctrinal beliefs as set forth in our Articles of Faith.

God has anointed the Pastor of this ministry, Rev. Don Sanders, to reach out to a hurting group within our community in a unique, but Christ-like manner.  In the power of the Holy Spirit, Rev. Sanders brings evangelistic outreach, sound biblical doctrine and the necessary pastoral care to those that are hurting.  As a result, many of them will come to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Once they are restored in fellowship with God by faith through the Lord Jesus Christ, they will then be on the "right road" to living a spirit-filled life of joy, inner peace and contentment.  As they grow in their faith in God through the Lord Jesus Christ, these new saints will learn to trust Christ by the promises made in His Word as they walk in His pathway living one day at a time.

Our Vision

The Good Shepard Restoration Ministries functions as a "virtual" church in order to meet the spiritual needs of the community it serves. The "virtual church" concept simply refers to a model that omits form and organized structure of the traditional church and focuses on carrying out the mission of the Church...sharing the Gospel.

We share the Gospel in a loving and compassionate manner and, by doing so, the "whole" person's needs are addressed. Their spiritual needs, emotional needs as well as their economic situation experience a rebirth that generates hope where there was none.

By establishing the addiction recovery support group network "GRACE" (this support network functions very similar to "12 Step" programs such as "Overcomers Outreach," "Alcoholics Annonymous" and "Narcotics Annonymous"), participants confront their issues in a healthy way. In turn, group leaders will introduce scriptures that will enlighten the participants as to God's view of their situation. This interaction fosters spiritual growth among participants and encourages them take responsibility for the choices they make in life.

Meeting people where they are is the foundation of our strategy of outreach. This includes door-to-door evangelism and "in-home" Bible study comprising of various cell groups that are formed from the fellowship evolving out of support group meetings. This also includes meeting people where they are socially as well as economically, without judgment and a patronizing attitude. Those, whose lives are touched by this outreach, experience God in a new light; one that will compel them to share the love of Jesus Christ with others.

Finally, this ministry affords mature believers who are members of established congregations in the North Tampa communities of Carrollwood, Lake Magdalene, Lutz, New Tampa and Temple Terrace the opportunity to volunteer their time, talent and treasures in a work of God that truly reaches out to those who are most hurting and brokenhearted. By giving of themselves, the volunteers' lives are enriched and their witness to their families and others in their environments are strengthened.
